Ingredients lasagna


1 box lasagna noodles
4 cup tomato sauce
32 oz ricotta cheese
1/2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
1 tbsp fresh chopped basil
1 large egg
1 pinch salt & pepper
1 1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano
12 oz mozzarella cheese
5 slice sharp provolone

how to make lasagna


I always have some of my homemade sauce in the freezer for things like this but jar sauce would also work


preheat oven to 350°


cook noodles to package directions


in large bowl mix together ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of the reggiano, the egg, basil, parsley, salt and pepper


set aside about 1/4 cup of the reggiano and some slices of mozzarella for the top


assemble lasagna in a 9x13 pan


spread 3/4 cup of tomato sauce on bottom of pan


lay noodles over lapping a little across bottom of pan


spread 1/2 of ricotta mixture over noodles and sprinkle with 1/2 of the reggiano


lay 1/2 the mozzarella and 1/2 the provolone and top with 1 and 1/4 cup tomato sauce


repeat steps 8 thru 10


add one more layer of noodles and top with remaining sauce and cheeses that had been set aside


cook in oven for 30 to 45 minutes, until top is brown and bubbly
